This page has information about: Making Appiontments, our Financial Policy, our Insurance Policy, and our Environmental Initiatives.
Please call (631) 351-1540 , or click the "Make Appointment" box to the right, and one of our staff members will be glad to help you schedule an appointment time that is right for you and your child. Please note that younger children often “do better” in the morning when they are less tired and that we only schedule longer, more complicated procedures, on weekday mornings.
We will make every effort to be on time and ask that you please extend the same courtesy to us. If you are running late please give us a call so that we can check if we can still accomodate you. As you know, sometimes situations will arise when a child may require an extra amount of time or emergency care. At those times your patience is greatly appreciated. Please know that if your child ever needs extra treatment time or emergency care we will adjust to his or her needs. Should it be necessary for you to miss an appointment, kindly notify our office as soon as possible (preferably at least 24 hours in advance) so the time can be made available for another child in need of care. It is customary to bill for appointments that are broken without notification.
As a courtesy to you, we will try to confirm appointments one-two days in advance. However, if you do not receive a telephone call before your child’s appointment, please do not feel that it has been canceled. We, for some reason, we're just not able to reach you, but we expect to see you at your scheduled time.
Preventive Dental Visits
Regular periodic dental examinations, plaque control checks, and fluoride applications are essential to any preventive dental care program. Experience shows that children who participate regularly in a preventive program have a lower incidence of dental decay than those who are seen sporadically. Ultimately, this both benefits your child and helps to keep costs down.
As a courtesy, we will contact you by phone or by postcard when it is time for your child to return for a preventive check-up. If for some reason you have not heard from us within 6 months from your child’s previous preventive check-up, please call us at (631) 351-1540 for an appointment. Remember, the responsibility of returning for dental care lies with you, the parent.
Since the cost of preparing statements and sending bills are constantly increasing, and since we wish to do our best to help keep dental costs down, we request payment for services at each visit. If you have dental insurance we may be able to arrange for your insurance to send payment to our office. If you have dental insurance we will ask to to keep a credit card on file with our office to pay any expences not covered by your insurance
Our fees for professional services are consistent with other area specialists and they are related to our time, effort, and quality of services rendered. We are glad to discuss fees with you, provide an estimate for proposed treatment, and make arrangements to plan payment for extended courses of treatment. As a courtesy, we accept, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, and CareCredit cards.
We are currently in-network with: CIGNA DPPO & EDP Dental Plan
While we are out of network, the following plans usually cover our fees 100% for Exams, Cleanings, and Fluoride Treatments: Guardian, MetLife, & Aetna
We are happy to electronically submitt claims on your behalf (if your insurance allows) and/or help you prepare the necessary forms for this important benefit. We will do our best to see that you receive your maximum benefits under your particular policy. Because insurance policies vary greatly, we will do our best to verify your coverage and estimate as accuratley as possile your deductibles and co-payments in good faith, but cannot guarantee them. All estimated deductibles and co-payments are due at the time that treatment is rendered.
If your insurance company allows it, we can arrange for them to send their portion of the payment directly to our office. We would then bill your credit card on file for any amounts that were not covered by your dental insurance. If your insurance has not paid it's portion of your claim within sixty (60) days after the date of service, the full amount due will be charged to your credit card on file. If insurance payment is subsequently received, we will promptly issue you a refund.
If your insurance company will not allow benefits to be assigned to our office then we request that you pay our office at the time of treatment and then have your insurance company pay you back directly.
Please keep in mind that your policy is an agreement between you and your insurance company, not your insurance company and our office. We have no control over their decisions and the amount they decide to pay.
